Best time to charge an electric car
On a dynamic tariff, the best time to charge an electric car is the cheapest continuous window that still finishes before you need to leave, not simply the single cheapest hour. A typical charge needs several hours, so the optimiser searches for the lowest-cost block that fits your deadline.
Charging as soon as you plug in is convenient, but if overnight prices are much lower, waiting can save several euros per session. Use the calculator above with “Electric car” selected (default ~20 kWh).
Best time to run the dishwasher
A dishwasher cycle is short and easy to postpone overnight. On a dynamic electricity tariff, delaying a few hours can save money, but only if the euro difference is large enough. If prices are already cheap, the tool will show little timing value; that is intentional.
Select “Dishwasher” above (about 1.2 kWh per cycle) and set when the load must be finished.
Best time to run the washing machine
Washing machines use less energy than electric car charging, so timing value is often cents rather than euros. Still useful when stacked with other flexible chores on a dynamic contract.

How to read the result
