What is the best time to charge an electric car on a dynamic tariff?

The best charging window is the cheapest continuous period that still finishes before your deadline, not simply "the cheapest single hour." A typical electric car charge needs several hours, so Dnamiq searches for the lowest-cost block that fits.

Charging immediately after plugging in is convenient, but if night prices are much lower, waiting can save several euros per session.

Inputs that matter

kWh needed, earliest start, and departure deadline define what is possible. Without a deadline, "cheapest overnight" is a solid default. With a deadline, the optimiser has to respect it.

FAQ

Does Dnamiq control my charger?
No. It recommends windows. You start charging manually or with your own charger schedule.
